CNN

As i was reading through the CNN website one article that got my attention was called, Cheaper Cars...but still ways to save.  This article had a lot of news value, especially in todays economy.  This story was talking about how car companies have been making but not selling enough.  Then it goes on to talk bout the best ways to get the best deals on a new car, things like what to say and not to say to the dealer.  I thought this article had a lot of news value.  It had timeliness, because the economy is so bad, it could apply to the whole nation so that would be proximity i guess.  The article also has impact.  The information given in the story could impact a lot of people's lives, because the economy is so rough and people aren't buying cars with the help of this article maybe more people would consider buying a new car.  The link on the home page for this article was called, Clark Howard: how to get a great car deal.  Thats the reason i clicked on it so I'm sure most other people will be interested when they first see that.

willy p cops

so i just read the articles from the record and the e-mail from Spreet about what happen last wednesday on belmont ave.  the article from the record went into much more detail than the e-mail, the record of course is intended for a much larger audience.  it was clearly trying to inform and report on what happened to the public.  on the other hand the e-mail, which was intended for students and staff, had much less detail and felt like it was little bit more on the wpu cops side.  the e-mail seemed like a disclaimer or something, like it was just sent out to cover the schools rep, for cops shooting at people, like last year.  the writer of the article was doing his job, very well if i might add,  telling the story how it happened, with details and facts, but  Spreet, also doing his job, was just giving us what he wanted us to hear.  i think the newspaper was a mush better source of what happened, it told the story better and gave us a lot more information.

untitled1

I guess I'll start by saying hello. I've never "blogged" before so this is all new to me.  I think I always wanted to blog, I thought it was cool when I first heard about it but I never knew what to write about, or even how to make one. I'm pretty excited about this.  As you can see I didn't know what to call this so for now it will just be Untitled until I decide what to call it.  Well anyway I like "extreme sports" like snowboarding motocross and down hill mountain biking.  I mostly listen to rock music, or alternative, some indie bands and Jay-Z.  Thats about the only rap I listen to.
So thats a little bit about me but now about this blog.  I started this blog for a class I am taking.  Media Writing.  I have to make 2 posts a week about topics from the professor and some on our own.  I don't really know what this is going to be about so thats another reason I named it untitled.  Maybe in the future that will change.  So far the class seems pretty cool.  If all I have to do is blog about everything thats cool with me.  It seems interesting already.  I like to write things like but I'm not exactly the best writer in the world.  I have a lot of ideas but i never know how to put them on paper so I am hoping this will help me write down some of my thoughts better.

I guess thats all for now,
