NEWS

I prefer to get my news form the TV for a few reasons. I don't like reading the paper, it takes to long and i hate when i read an article and at the bottom it just ends and then you have to find it 5 pages back. I don't listen to the radio very much so I don't ever get news from it. Television news is the best way to find out whats going on in the world. You get to see the anchors talking about the story and there are visual and audio to held get the story to you. I would much rather watch the news on TV then read it or hear it on the radio.

Hey, so I've got a lot of stuff going on right now I'm not sure what to talk about. I'm going to see my favorite band, Brand New, on Friday. I have seen them a bunch of time, like 4 or 5. They are so good, I love seeing them live they always play awesome sets. The show is at Ramapo so its really close and my roommates girlfriend goes there so we are gonna stay and party after. Dumb me forgot to ask off for work on that day though so the last few days i've been going crazy trying to find a cover and finally got someone but i had to take one of there shifts but it is totally worth it. I would have been so mad if i had to miss this show. It should be a good time I hear they have some new songs they are working on i hope they give us a little preview.

So thats what is going on this weekend I cant wait!

SPORE

HI. Growing up I the only video games I had were SEGA and Nintendo I never really played computer games, until now.  My game of choice, SPORE. It is a strategy game with a big twist, when you start the game you are just one little cell.  Of course you start with a mouth and a little tail to swim, from there you have to eat and grow so you can evolve and grow legs to then walk on land.  While you are just swimming and eating there are 6 cell parts to unlock to make your cell better, but you also have to defend yourself against others.  Then to edit your creature you mate and can then add and change different parts to make yourself stronger and faster.  Soon after you collect all the parts and edit yourself however you want to look you will evolve and get legs to walk on land.

Once you have legs edit your creature to look anyway you want.  Make it bigger or smaller, carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore, anything you can think of you can create in this game.  When you are on land you want to eat and grow like before except now you can talk to other animals in nests around yours.  Now this part of the game is where you need to start to add some strategy because you can make friends with other things or you can just hunt and become a predator.  Whatever you choose to do from now on will forever effect you in the rest of the game.  But I'll talk about that later.  So this creature stage is my favorite part of the game, this is where you need to get creative because you collect new parts here as well and when you mate you can edit your animal.  Like I said before anything you can think of you can create in this game, anything.

Alright so now that your on land interacting with others, unlocking parts and editing your creation, you are also getting smarter by communicating and hunting.  This makes your brain grow and eventually you can talk to others and have them join your pack so you are not just walking around by yourself.  As you become smarter you will be able to have 3 friends of any species follow you around and hunt with you.  Once you reach the top of the food chain the next stage is tribal, here you form a village and have a leader who controls the rest of the tribe.  Now you can domesticate wild animals and gather food to have your village grow.  As other tribes form you can make friends or enemies to keep your village growing.  In this stage it begins to look like all those strategy games for PCs.  You don't just control one thing now you control all of your people.

I know your probably thinking it, the next stage your village turns to a city.  You are still ruling over everyone and you must make your city make money and grow your military.  Now you just battle other cities so you can take over the world.  I haven't gotten through this part of the game I kept getting destroyed.  Then after the civilization part you get to travel through space and explore that.  Like i said I haven't gotten through that yet but my roommates did and it looks pretty cool.

So basically I've been playing this game a lot instead of doing homework and what not.  I figured i could right about it and tell you all what a great game it is and I should have kept playing instead of write this blog.

I suppose i'll take this time just to say somethings that are on my mind.  Like why is my bathroom sink so gross. Do my roommates not know how to clean? Well, no, no they don't.  But why is there toothpaste all over?  Its a pretty big sink can't they just spit in it, not around it.  Oh well they're not going to listen to me if i say anything so I guess ill just deal with it.  It'll get cleaned eventually, like when there's weeks of grossness built up and the landlord is coming for whatever reason,  then we'll clean.  Thats how it usually goes, you know just wait till the last minute and rush trough it right before it needs to get done.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the landlord is on her way here right now.  She's coming at 6 to get the rent, and yes we are suppose to be cleaning.  EH the house isn't that bad just needs a quick once-over.  Plus I'm the only one here and I'm sure as hell not cleaning by myself, especially since the mess is from the game yesterday and i didn't even invite any one.  But then again no one is gonna do it if i don't....So I'm off to clean.  sorry to bore you with my rant about the mess of a house i live in, maybe next time ill get into something a bit more interesting.

so long.

CNN

As i was reading through the CNN website one article that got my attention was called, Cheaper Cars...but still ways to save.  This article had a lot of news value, especially in todays economy.  This story was talking about how car companies have been making but not selling enough.  Then it goes on to talk bout the best ways to get the best deals on a new car, things like what to say and not to say to the dealer.  I thought this article had a lot of news value.  It had timeliness, because the economy is so bad, it could apply to the whole nation so that would be proximity i guess.  The article also has impact.  The information given in the story could impact a lot of people's lives, because the economy is so rough and people aren't buying cars with the help of this article maybe more people would consider buying a new car.  The link on the home page for this article was called, Clark Howard: how to get a great car deal.  Thats the reason i clicked on it so I'm sure most other people will be interested when they first see that.

willy p cops

so i just read the articles from the record and the e-mail from Spreet about what happen last wednesday on belmont ave.  the article from the record went into much more detail than the e-mail, the record of course is intended for a much larger audience.  it was clearly trying to inform and report on what happened to the public.  on the other hand the e-mail, which was intended for students and staff, had much less detail and felt like it was little bit more on the wpu cops side.  the e-mail seemed like a disclaimer or something, like it was just sent out to cover the schools rep, for cops shooting at people, like last year.  the writer of the article was doing his job, very well if i might add,  telling the story how it happened, with details and facts, but  Spreet, also doing his job, was just giving us what he wanted us to hear.  i think the newspaper was a mush better source of what happened, it told the story better and gave us a lot more information.

untitled1

I guess I'll start by saying hello. I've never "blogged" before so this is all new to me.  I think I always wanted to blog, I thought it was cool when I first heard about it but I never knew what to write about, or even how to make one. I'm pretty excited about this.  As you can see I didn't know what to call this so for now it will just be Untitled until I decide what to call it.  Well anyway I like "extreme sports" like snowboarding motocross and down hill mountain biking.  I mostly listen to rock music, or alternative, some indie bands and Jay-Z.  Thats about the only rap I listen to.
So thats a little bit about me but now about this blog.  I started this blog for a class I am taking.  Media Writing.  I have to make 2 posts a week about topics from the professor and some on our own.  I don't really know what this is going to be about so thats another reason I named it untitled.  Maybe in the future that will change.  So far the class seems pretty cool.  If all I have to do is blog about everything thats cool with me.  It seems interesting already.  I like to write things like but I'm not exactly the best writer in the world.  I have a lot of ideas but i never know how to put them on paper so I am hoping this will help me write down some of my thoughts better.

I guess thats all for now,
